Proscenium

These parts we are given to read
in early dawn
in a play without intermission
all ghost written by authors
unnamed

lines acted
in front and behind the drawn curtain
the shroud of secrecy
around the plot that writes itself
is the play that overtakes the theater and the world
is the play we now rehearse in every awake moment
already in mid-scene when we arrive late to the theatre
late to the river
late to the stars against the black drape of sky
lines spoken between us
I ghost write for you
you ghost write for me
danced out of some distant mind
into our hearts.
